Policy Updates Are Worthless Without Re-Acknowledgement

Zaffre Tech · June 17, 2026

You revise your remote-work policy and feel productive. But here is the uncomfortable truth: everyone who acknowledged the old version is still operating under it. They have no idea the rules changed. Your update exists on paper and nowhere in their behaviour.

Policies are living documents, but acknowledgement is a point-in-time event. When the document changes, the old acknowledgement no longer applies. Treating a revision as silent risks a workforce following outdated rules and a compliance record that lies about what people agreed to.

Every meaningful revision should trigger a fresh acknowledgement cycle. Employees should be notified, shown the new version, and asked to confirm again, with the old confirmation clearly marked as superseded.

Zaffre HRM, the HR module of Zaffre Axon by Zaffre Tech, versions every policy and re-issues it on change. In Zaffre HRM, publishing an update automatically prompts affected employees to acknowledge the new version, and the dashboard tracks who has and has not done so.

The history in Zaffreaxon shows exactly which version each person agreed to and when, so you can always prove what rules applied at any point in time. No silent updates, no stale agreements.

A policy change is only real once people confirm it. The Zaffre re-acknowledgement flow makes sure they do.
