Building an Offboarding Checklist That Nobody Can Skip

Zaffre Tech · June 17, 2026

Most offboarding checklists are a document in a shared folder that someone copies, half-fills, and abandons. The problem with a static checklist is that it is purely advisory: nothing stops you skipping a step, and nothing tells you whether the person responsible actually did their part.

A real offboarding checklist needs to be enforced, assigned and tracked. Each item should have an owner, a status and a consequence for being skipped.

Zaffre HRM turns the checklist into a living workflow. When an exit starts on the Zaffre Axon platform, every required step, clearance, asset recovery, access revocation, handover, settlement, experience letter, is generated as a task assigned to the right person. You cannot mark the exit complete while a mandatory item is open.

Because Zaffre Tech built it on one connected data layer, the checklist adapts to the situation: a remote employee gets asset-shipping steps, a terminated employee gets the documentation steps, and so on. The Zaffretech dashboard shows completion across all active exits, so HR manages by exception rather than chasing everyone.

An enforced checklist is the difference between hoping offboarding went well and knowing it did.

Replace your folder full of forms. Book a demo and see the Zaffreaxon offboarding checklist that nobody can skip.
